arma3 crushes with error code 0xc000007b
#1
Hi guys,

After I tried some random dll files in System32 to fix my GTA5, my arma3 finally crushes with the error code (0xc000007b). I've re-installed mvc 2008/10/13/15 and DirectX but still cannot fix it.

Any hint on what I should do next?

Big big thanks!

Have you tried validating your Arma 3 files?

In your Steam games browser, right click on Arma 3>Properties>Local files>verify integrity of game files
#3
checked, arma3 files are all good.
I'm checking if I messed up some operating system files in c:/windows/system3. I guess the crush is all because I replaced some dll files with some randoms on the Internet. jeeez...

Always make backup of files before you replace them. In case stuff happens you can just replace them again with the original files.

Thanks for the tip Linden. I can't blame myself more right now for not having the backup.

Here are some solutions

And a few more

In most cases, it's Microsoft .NET framework causing the issues. You can download the latest version of .NET Framework from Microsoft.

Updating your operating system can fix the bugs that cause troubles. Besides, some features and programs built in Windows, such as DirectX and .NET Framework, can also be updated during the process. It is recommended that you update your operating system and see if this can help you fix your 0xc000007b error.
When it's installed (or re-installed) reboot and try your app or game again.

Cheers! I'm trying to locate the dll file that caused the problem using Microsoft dependency walker according to this thread. If still I cannot fix it, I'll update the OS. Otherwise I'll have to reinstall the whole OS.

I really hope it doesn't come to that. Fingers-crossed!

I really really hope so. Tried the dll replacement plan but didn't work. Now I'm updating the OS.
